Don’t want to buy Expression Web or SharePoint Designer?

Microsoft Visual Web Editor Express 2008 can be downloaded and registered for Free and it has all of the functionality needed to work with most of our PixelMill Expression Web and straight HTML table-less CSS templates as well as many products produced for FrontPage. Note: Visual Web Developer 2008 Express Edition is a component of Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Express Edition.

NOTE: Scroll down the page to the subsection marked Files In This Download and click on the Download Button for the File Name: vnssetup.exe You do not need to install the SQL component to edit templates. You will need the SQL component if you are going to be working with .Net (.aspx).

There are differences between Expression Web and Visual Web Editor Express (VWEE)… most notably in VWEE there is no “Publish” function as in FrontPage and Expression Web/SharePoint Designer. In VWEE you do Website> Copy Web Site to move your files to your Webserver or to make a backup. In VWEE: Please, whatever you do, make sure to set the “Style Application” in the toolbar to Auto, failure to do so will result in the biggest CSS mess you have ever seen.
